Each year, the Virginia
Beach Historic Houses
Society sponsors a Midsummer
Faire event at the Adam Thoroughgood House
(circa
1720). This year's event will have a chess theme. A live chess game
will be
held on Sunday at about
1, 3, and 5 pm. The
Princess Anne
County/Virginia
Beach Historical Society is
looking for volunteers to serve as pieces and as players. If you are

for
information about the event, please contact Karin Pettinger. Our area
chess
players are
encouraged to attend the function and support this worthy
organization both by volunteering and attending. There is a $3 per
