These are sketches that eventually made it to a finished drawing or painting. From left to right, first row. Sketch of my ex-stepmother. Not a very agreeable person...but at the time, she was ok. Sketch of Bernie. This would be one of two portraits that I've done of Bernie. The first one (preliminary sketch here) was given to her. The second one (which is on my Pencil Drawings page) I still have. The man reaching into the sky...was taken from a photograph I took at Dumbarton Oaks park in Georgetown (Washington DC.) Was reaching for a thrown Frisbee. Was later part of an etching I did. The 2nd row, middle. is a sketch of a church on California Street in Washington. Was turned into one of my larger pen & Ink drawings. It was given to my best man when I got married in 1974.
