Announcements
- There will be NO general membership
meeting for the month of July. We'll see everyone again in August.
- Added a couple of new webpages
dedicated to Field Day 2008 and Field Day history for W7FLY.
- BEARONS will be participating in a
Special Event in conjunction with the Stanwood/Camano ARC. The event
is to celebrate the opening of Cama Beach State Park - the first new state
park for Washington in over 20 years. We've applied for and received a
special 1X1 callsign for the event - K7P. The event will take place on
October 17th-19th, 2008. There will be an announcement in QST and on
the ARRL website as well as other various ham related sites on the web.
Further details will be forthcoming as the event draws nearer.
- W7FLY received an ARCI number, it is
13195. We will be able to use this for any of a number of ARCI
sponsored contests throughout the year. Club membership in ARCI is
free. You can visit their website at http://www.qrparci.org and see what they're all about. Individual
memberships are available for a yearly fee.
- Microhams will be sponsoring
Technician class courses in 2008 on February 15th-17th, May 9th-11th,
and October 17th-19th. There will also be a General class course on
April 11th-13th. Classes will run from 7:00PM - 10:00PM on Friday,
9:00AM - 5:00PM on Saturday, and 9:00AM - 12:00PM on Sunday. License
testing will start at 1:00PM on Sunday and is also open to the public by
reservation. The class cost is $40 and includes a textbook, handouts,
and the testing fee. If you already have a W5YI Technician Class book
by Gordon West, the class fee is $20. Registration details and other
