About “A Sword
for the Immerland King” and Tessalindria.
How long did it take to write
this book?
The initial writing took about six months. It took another fifteen months to re-write it three times and then about a year in the production preparation at Doxa Press.
Who did the cover artwork?
The cover artwork and design was done by the artists Scott and Farley Vigneault.
Who did the artwork inside?
The artwork on the inside, and all the glyphs I did myself. They were hand sketches with a lot of computer doctoring to get them where I wanted them.
When do you ever find
time to write?
I write in the early mornings, after my walk, and before anyone else is up. I am an early riser.
Where did you get all the quotes
at the beginning of the chapters?
The quotes at the beginning of the chapters are called epigraphs. I got them from the books written by the listed authors and from books on the history of Tessalindria. You can find these books at any good library. (Actually, I made them all up)
Do you already have the
other books outlined?
Yes, but I am quite sure that the outlines I have will change as I learn more about Tessalindria by writing the first books. This may sound strange, but that is the way it is with writing.
Do you already have any
other books written?
Not completely. A second book is well into the first draft. Don’t hold your breath – it takes a lot of work to do something like this.
