SkirmishCampaigns:
Russia '41 - Into the Ukraine
When the
German commanders of Army Group South
invaded the Soviet Union on June 22,
1941, they were hopeful and optimistic.
These feelings of superiority would be
tested to their limits in the next three
weeks as German tanks encountered the
might of the powerful Soviet tank corps
of the Ukraine. Unlike the other Soviet
fronts, the Ukraine was equipped with the
majority of the new Soviet T-34s and
KV-1s. These powerful assets plus
numerous older tanks (including the
amazing T-35 super-tank) would slow Army
Group South and later force a large
section of Army Group Center to commit to
the Ukraine (some argue this provided the
time to fortify Moscow and prevent its
capture). This book covers the huge
armored clashes between the 11th and 16th
Panzer Divisions and the Soviet armor of
the 15th and 8th Tank Corps.

it was, this is exactly the way Rommel
liked it.

to hold out nearly as long against
Germany as France and Britian did a year
later. This book traces the saga of the
brave Polish 10th Mechanized Division,
the "Black Brigade" from the
opening days of invasion to the fall of
Poland. Elements of the intrepid Black
