The base has what looks like the number 117 enameled in the center... probably an ID number from the maker. The condition... it has some very light cleanable inside stain, light base wear, some mild paint loss to the letters and a few very tiny pinpoint size nicks. There is a pinhead size open bubble (it seems) hidden on the back and a tiny flake off the inside lip. This sounds worse than it actually is, but we like to be accurate with our descriptions. The ground stopper or top fits well, but probably isn't original. It looks great, but the hidden bottom of it is chipped. Ben Franklin Rye was a brand name used by Delaney & Murphy (1888-1918) of Chicago, IL (Illinois). This brand was registered in 1906. (logo in script) over RICHMOND over VA. over 7 FLUID OZS. on the heel. The base is embossed: A.G.W. over 249. A dug bottle with repairs, making this a great example for display. The condition report: There is a 3/16" freeze crack in the lip of the crowntop and another on the left side - 3/4". This was found in two pieces, so the top, near the shoulder was fused together with epoxy. Epoxy was also used to fill a void where an old fisheye (3/4") was knocked out on the right side near the heel...hard to detect. It also has a small amount of typical cleanable interior stain and a few tiny (pinhead size) hidden fisheyes. This all sounds bad, but these are so scarce that this had to be saved for someone's Pepsi collection. This bowling pin Pepsi is perfect for that collection that is missing one. To be extremely picky... it only has a few very tiny and hidden fleabites and a larger one on the back shoulder measuring only 3/16". This is not in any way damage at all, but very light and typical wear. It also has the expected interior light contents stain and a few tiny flakes of cleanable dirt. Overall, it's in excellent condition for such a rare Coke. It may be a lifetime before another is offered. Click Here for a close-up look at the oval slug area. This early Coke bottle stands 8" tall and other examples, with some in worse shape, have sold for $3000.00 plus in the past..... SOLD

Everything is visible, it is just lighter in that area and could have been used like this from its first day of service... who knows. Another hard to locate Virginia milk bottle.
