While America goes further and further into the abyss, and the suspension of our civil liberties continues to rise, The Internet is helping--somewhat--to wake people up to
what's really going on. Here's three reasons you do not want to watch television. There
are many, but here's three. Mark my words closely, because I do not want to say "I told you so" in a short period of
time. This was originally written on October 12, 2008 but since has been revised to include additional and important
details.
One thing added is a new documentary on 9/11. Many of you know
of the 911 truth movement and have seen "Loose Change" and "Loose Change II." However, some of you may not be aware
of "Fabled Enemies" an excellent and new documentary by Jason Bermas that further substantiates
what many intelligent folks already know about this event on 9/11/01.
1) America is on the wrong path. Dennis Kucinich took four
hours to read the 35 articles of impeachment against George Bush in June, 2008. What? YOUR television didn't
report this historic event? Why are you surprised? It barely reports anything that threatens the neocons
in power.
2) Watching television dulls the mind while at the same time seldom
reporting on anything that will significantly help to improve the lives of Americans everywhere. Television has
one purpose: to sell the advertisers' products and make money for the station. Brainwashing the public is another one! When is the last time you learned how prescription drugs kill
over 100,000 people each year in American or that deficiency of adequate sunshine exposure (vitamin D) causes an
excess of 100,000 deaths from cancer--alone--each year? The repression of useful health information
to the American people is simply mind-boggling. Television certainly assists since it continues to spread propaganda,
not honest health information, in most cases!
3) Television is a tool to brainwash the public and make most people
apathetic. We're not apathetic? I went to a protest in Albany to protest the attempt to pass a bill (10942) that
would allow NO exemptions to parents who don't want to vaccinate their children. Obviously, the dangers are overwhelming. About 125 people showed up! That's apathy!
Meanwhile, in our country, under the current inept and dangerous administration,
we have: Extraordinary renditions, torture, suspension of Habeus Corpus, suspension of the Posse Comitatus Act, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (where hundreds have been kept for over 6 years
with no charges, little or no access to attorneys, torture, etc.), the Abu Garub scandal, Warrantless Wiretapping, signing
statements, Illegal Wars, Lying to the public about "weapons of mass destruction", 9/11, firing of U.S. Attorneys who refuse to do illegal acts...the list goes on and on! Where's the outrage? (That certain environmental chemicals makes people apathetic certainly doesn't help!)
Did you learn the HUGE part that our current Iraq war played in our current financial mess from YOUR television set? Surely,
if you're one of my friends, you know that we've killed over 1,000,000 Iraqis and over 4,200 American soldiers, injured countless
thousands of Iraqis and American (and some foreign) soldiers, made refugees of 2-3 million Iraqis, and more. Not that
you would learn this from the sanitized version reported on television, but we have truly wrecked Iraq! Why aren't we
in Sudan or Zimbabwe? Don't they need order restored there? (Oops...no oil in these countries!) We also
made millionaires out of numerous private contractors from this hugely "privatized" war. Oh, I forgot: We've managed to accumulate
2-3 million million dollars in debt in the process. (Yes, that's 2-3 trillion dollars) just from this unjust war.
This is a perfect example of Naomi Klein's "Shock Doctrine" at work. (Klein wrote the bestselling book, "The Shock Doctrine,
The Rise of Disaster Capitalism.")
Remember, not watching television is not primarily about avoiding some
of the health hazards (and there are several). It's that we want to PREVENT what occured in Argentina in 1979. (Note, this is a frightening, but timely 59 minute movie.
Watch it. This is what a full blown financial collapse looks like. You'll have to be alert, since it's in Spanish with English subtitles.)
By the way, this may explain why Bush has ordered an active unit
of combat troops to be stationed inside the US to serve as an "'on call' federal response in times of emergency," specifically
for use in case of "civil unrest" and for "crowd control." The unit chosen for this task is the Army's Third Infantry
Division's First Brigade Combat Team which has spent thirty-five of the last sixty month in Iraq. (As of October, 2008)
Of course, it's a first in American history that this is being done, although the use of US troops to enforce civil order
(think Katrina, 2005), has been done in the past.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but our civil liberties have been frittered away for the previous 8 years. Obama up to this point has NOT been a source of comfort since
he hasn't reversed any of these awful laws affecting our civil liberties. Are you surprised? Did you know
that Congress was threatened with Martial Law if the "Bailout Package" (the one presented in Sept., 2008 for the crooks on Wall Street), wasn't
passed? And it's the taxpayers here (and in a similar situation in Europe--there), that will end up paying the bill.
And what, for example, did Goldman Sachs do with their $10 billion in bailout money? They paid $6.5 billion in
bonuses! (They COULD have given each of their Burger King employees $18,000 (which to those making $7./hour would go a LONG way to improving the quality
of their lives!), but choose, instead to JUST enrich a few who likely didn't need the money! Go to Brasschecktv for further details. This came out in February, 2009.
But what about the $14 Billion bailout of the automakers? They
had to explain how every penny would be spent! See the duplicity here? And another $5 trillion spent on the banks,
NOT disclosed to the press? The Federal Reserve and the US Treasury will NOT explain how this money is being spent!
The Bloomberg administration is now suing to get the details released, but so far, the fed says it doesn't have to explain
how they're spending....OUR money!
And for those that have given their full support behind President Barack
Obama, after seeing this documentary, you might reconsider! Perhaps, after seeing the new Alex Jones documentary, "The Obama Deception" you might tone down your enthusiasm as has this writer. See for yourself!

Now wait a minute! Banks bailing out banks (you know, those institutions
which gambled away lots of money, much as any other gambler addicted to the track would, and YOU and I will pay for it to
the tune of $2 TRILLION IN TAXES! (Makes the Lincoln Savings and Loan Debacle of 1988 for 'only' $200 Billion
tax payer dollars, seem like small change, doesn't it!)
Would you have ever even imagined that such insanity could ever
take place in a country with the vaguest semblance of democracy?!!!
Unless you're completely brain-dead, haven't we just come to understand
that America is a fascist country?!!! No? Well, maybe you're one of those people that needs to turn off your television
and WAKE UP!
All notions of liberty and freedom are just rhetoric for brainwashed
masses!!!
