Astrophotos
Core of M31.  Stack of twenty 13 second exposures with the 16" scope pictured to the right.  Below, Orion rising above the twin Keck telescope domes on Mauna Kea, HI.
The North American Nebula in Cygnus.  Ten minute exposure with a 200mm telephoto  and Canon Digital Rebel.
This is the 16" F/4.6 Newtonian telescope I use for visual observations.  It has an excellent primary mirror made by John Lightholder.  A Tom Osypowski platform provides tracking.
M31, this is a 20 minute exposure with a William Optics 80mm refractor and Canon Digital Rebel.
Comet 17P/Holmes, November 3, 2007.  Canon Digital Rebel and 200mm lens.  One minute exposure at ISO 100.
Photo of the comet from my home in Redondo Beach.  The color of the sky is due to light pollution.
