Using the freeware program, Virtual Moon Atlas, it is easy to identify lunar features.
Saturn, 10" telescope at F/30.  Viedo frames stacked and processed with RegiStax.  From Redondo Beach, CA.
In March a storm in Saturn's atmosphere was visible from Earth.  This photo was taken with a 10" telescope at F/15.  I am not sure if the white spot is the storm.
Comet 17P/Holmes with open cluster NGC 1245 below, Dec. 2, 2007, from CA Hot Springs.  Five minute exposure with Canon Digital Rebel and 200mm telephoto lens.
This movie shows one hour of Jupiter's rotation compressed into about 4 seconds.  To make the movie, I took 10 seconds of video at one minute intervals for an hour.  The video was then stacked and processed using RegiStax to make individual JPEGs.  The JPEGs were then registered in Photoshop and then imported into PhotoLapse to make the movie.  It took about 5 hours of computer time to make the 4 second video!
