My Amateur "Ham" Radio Callsign is KB3AWQ and I have had it since June of 1993 when I became a Novice and in August of 1993 I became a Technician Plus. I was previously a member of the West Branch Amateur Radio Association who own and operate the 146.730/444.000 repeaters and was Vice President of the club for a year but am now a past member, for no real reason, I'm just too busy/inactive with clubs, but will be there to help out if the need should arise. I am also an Associate Member of the
. This also is where my grandfather (who also shares the same name as me) served and protected for the 1960-1982 era of his career as a Williamsport Police Officer. I have been a member of the
from January 31, 2002 to January 31, 2008.
I am the Deputy Emergency Management Agency Coordinator for Hepburn and Lycoming Townships. I first became active with EMA through amateur radio (RACES/ARES/SKYWARN at the county level, a couple years later in June of 1995, I became a member of the Williamsport Emergency Management Agency "AKA Civil Defense". I have done some local websites also in the past, but not so much anymore but try to keep up with the ones I have. I have been employed by the Williamsport Area School District since September 1st 1998 which at that time started out as a part time custodian then in April 2003 became fulltime then July 1st 2005 when they decided to cut some positions, I was toward the bottom of fulltime so mine was cut, so I went back to part time for the summer and re-gained fulltime when school started but it was doing security, in August 2006 I was bumped again and going into the (School Police) security spot at the High School which I started October 2006 and was able to go back to being a custodian in April 2007 since that is an all around the year job and of course pays more. My Date Of Birth is July 12, 1979. I'm 6'1" if it matters lol. My ICQ number is 9983874, MSN/hotmail Messenger screen name is KB3AWQ...... AOL's AIM Messenger Screen Name is LTEMA.... Yahoo Messenger Screen Name fpcaptain - Yahoo Messenger is my favorite I guess but I'm connected 24/7, I'm normally invisable... On February 17th 2008 I converted back to a Verizon Wireless customer with the big whooping 700 shared minutes and unlimited text, picture and video messaging to all cell providers. I have the G'zone - 5702790244 at vtext dot com is the phones address. Ruth has the Env (9900 I think) My Nextel or (Sprint w/Nextel) "BOOOOOO" is usually around somewhere since I can still use the "Direct Talk" feature off network without being a customer.. I have the i760 (i710 was my 1st one). My Direct Connect # was 196*54*48375. I'd rather text/chat on a computer.
which forwards to 5702790244 at dot vtext dot com - or by going directly to
and by typing 5702790244 in for the phone number to send a message to. Or you can go to my direct Verizon Paging System
or
I have a schmobile.com Digital Pager that I get pages from Lycoming County Dept. of Public Safety for EMA, Weather and other related information. I use to have a personal one but when schmobile bought them from Pennsel I quickly put an end to that since they started charging for overage paging and I received the same thing with Nextel and is cheaper a month. So that was enough for me, but since this one isn't coming directly at least out of my pocket... I'll take it!
If your wondering anything else just ask me and I will probably tell ya!!! Also if your a ham radio operator with a Technician Class or higher you can look for me on the 147.300 Repeater + 600khz offset PL 151.4 The repeater is pretty easy to get into from anywhere in Williamsport area, it overlooks Williamsport from being located at Williamsport Area High School and makes it easy for me as well as a couple other fellow hams/co-workers to communicate since we work at the High School. Also stop by the
147.300
for more info.. If you would like to listen to the W3AHS Repeater Live Online
We had a "part time link" to but now is hooked full-time to Echolink Worldwide. It was hooked up to the State College, PA Ham Radio Repeater on 444.700 + 5mhz PL 114.8 and was done simply by entering some codes on the touch tone pad to activate the link, The codes were available but then became not available to the public so you would have to contact a Control Operator to have it turned on.
On July 17, 2002 I was appointed to be the Assistant Northwest Regional Representative by Rep. Bill, N3JIX for
ARCC coordinates amateur radio repeaters in Eastern PA and Southern NJ and Sussex County, NJ. The job Bill and I participate in can vary. If a repeater is coordinated and is not on the air, we are to report this, but we basically help out when hams looking to obtain coordination and such we can point them in the right direction. The reason why we are the Northwest Rep's is because we are in the Northwest region of the coverage and volunteered to do this task. Repeaters west of Lycoming County is the Western PA Coordination Group that coordinates Western PA Ham Repeaters. Bill and I cover the following counties of Pennsylvania: Sullivan, Bradford, Tioga, Lycoming, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Columbia, Montour, Union, Snyder, Juniata, Perry, Northumberland counties.
