GET OUT!... Life is too short to sit in front of your computer. So we are taking the advice of a Life is Good t-shirt and "getting out". Our outdoor interests in the summer are hiking and biking. In the winter we love to downhill ski. And we've talked about trying snowshoeing but haven't done it yet. This summer we are also training to walk - I said walk, not run - the Portland Marathon. So far, the training schedule has been going well. As of June 11, 2005 we are on schedule to do our long walk of 10 miles. Each week we walk one long walk at a moderate speed and 2 shorter walks at a faster pace. Wish us luck to walk all 26 miles on October 9, 2005. We will post our current schedule of hiking or biking or skiing around town and the local area. Want to join us? Check out this page for updates on what's going on. Any questions? Email Gary. He's the man with the plan. Ok, this isn't a Hike or a Bike event, but it was outside. Sunday evening several of us from Calvary Chapel Redmond went to Alki Beach to sit around a bonfire, or as it is spelled in Middle English, bonnefire. I like the definition -- "for celebration or amusement". After Mark put some big timbers on the flames we were quite amused. ![]() posted by Gary at Tuesday, September 07, 2004 |
