Ah, Paris

So moving on from New York City we flew to Paris and stayed for several days to do more sight seeing. Probably the most familiar icon to Paris is Le Tour Eiffel (The Eiffel Tower).

Someone graciously took our picture while 2nd stage of the tower, the city in the background and cool wind blowing in our hair.

The base of the thing is just immense! On the day we went the weather was fair and surprisingly, from this side there are hardly any other people around.

However, from the 2nd stage we look down and see there are lots of people. What looks like a line of ants crawling around are people waiting to get into the line for getting a ticket to take the elevator up. So we decided to buy the cheaper tickets and take the stairs. We didn't have to wait as long either. The stairs only goes to the 2nd stage. From there the only way to get to the top is by the central lift.

From the sommet (very top) there are some great views.

The towers at the top right is Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart).

The familiar twin bell towers of Notre Dame (Our Lady).

The Champs de Mars (a great park in front of the Eiffel Tower)

Oh, but what makes worth all the while is to be up there with my beautiful wife!
