Gifts
of Grace . . .
Stewardship is everything we do after we say
“I believe.”
Each
Fall, we consider the many blessings of our lives. This
year's program is called, "Gifts of Grace."
Members of our community have been sharing their stories
of Grace and how they respond in thanks. Here are some of
the stories:
"When
I moved to Salem nearly two years ago, far away from the
people and traditions I had been raised with, Grace Church
offered me a sense of stability and community that proved
especially valuable as the chaos of my work life spiraled
out of control. Sitting in choir rehearsal, I got to feel
like I was using at least some of my labor to bring beauty
into the world as well as working to keep alive a
tradition of worship that honors God as beautifully and
respectfully as I have ever known."
"I
come to church to find purpose and direction in my life.
Last year, I ended up in the hospital for a week in a coma
and almost died. Since that experience, I have discovered
the deeper importance for me to have a relationship with
God which is worthy of his gift of life. I believe God
wants me to help others in the world and have discovered
that when I am engaged in such service, I am happiest. I
support Grace Church because I believe in our inherent
good and desire to serve a better vision for
society."
"My
prayers have always been answered when I have asked while
being at Grace Church. They are usually the very difficult
things in my life. Somehow, my answers become very clear.
I am blessed to have Grace Church in my life."
"My
gift of grace is the pilgrimage of being the person God
created me to be. The people of Grace Church have provided
a conduit through which I am reaffirmed and
supported."
