M31.jpg

Taken at YFOS on the NHAS Titan mount on 9/15/07. 20 x 300 second exposures (1 hour 40 minutes total) at ISO 800 with the Canon 350D (Digital Rebel XT), TeleVue TRF-2008 0.8x reducer and the Stellarvue SV80S. This sequence was guided although my friend and fellow imager Herb tells me I can shoot unguided on the Titan for up to 8 minutes! I'll guide and take that variable out of the equation.

Processed in ImagesPlus 2.82 and PixInsight SE 1.0. I used IP 2.82 to convert the raw frames, calibrate with darks, align and stack and digital development. Then in PixInsight the HDRWaveletTransform was used to bring up local contrast, a further histogram stretch was applied and 3 iteratioins of GreyC noise reduction to clean up noise.
