It was a TV commercial that made us decide to visit Acadia National Park. The ad agency could possibly have deserved a pat on the back for making a TV spot persuasive enough to convince skeptics like us to drive five-hundred miles, that is if the commercial was for Maine Tourism. It wasn't.
Instead, it was a car commercial. If I ever knew what model of car it was I have forgotten. It was the road that caught my eye. A rocky twisting beauty of a road that they identified with a caption as "Otter Cliffs". This was significantly pre-Internet, so it took some actual effort to find out where Otter Cliffs was. Time well spent, though.
