It was Sunday morning and Jack was sitting in the commissary within the Cheyenne Mountain complex. He was using one hand to hold his head up while he yawned periodically. The other hand was poking at the bowl of cereal. Most of it had turned soggy and inedible in the milk. The little marshmallow pieces in a variety of shapes and colors had retained their consistency of super glue covered Styrofoam.

Teal’c sat across from him with his own breakfast of waffles, sausage, eggs and toast with a side bowl of rich oatmeal. Jack had winced slightly when Teal’c set his tray down and then resumed the poking of the bowl.

“What are you…. Not eating, O’Neill,” the former Jaffa asked with interest.

“Lucky charms.” Jack grunted in response.

Teal’c frowned slightly. “If I recall correctly from this time last year, you had assured me that they were not truly charms, nor did they bring luck,” he said.

“Yep,” Jack grunted.

Teal’c consumed about a third of his meal while Jack continued to poke at the bowl with his eyes closed.

“O’Neill, why to you request this cereal even though you do not like the taste?” Teal’c asked.

“Tradition.” Jack grunted without opening his eyes.

“Like the over consumption of the ‘green beer’ at O’Malley’s last night?” Teal’c asked.

“Yep.” Jack grunted.

Teal’c nodded to him self. “Perhaps you should consider finding alternate Irish traditions,” he suggested.

A crash of dropped trays made Jack not only flinch but moan, holding his head in both hands. “Yasureyoubetcha…” he grunted.
