Religion - Chapter 3 - Jesus is the Son of God, Son of Man
 
7th Grade - Our focus in Language Arts this week will be on speech writing to prepare for Student Council elections.
 
5th Grade - Our focus in Language Arts this week will be on speech writing to prepare for Student Council elections.
Reading - In November we will begin the class reading of The Chronicles of Narnia. 5th graders are required to have the book by 11/4.
 
6th grade - Our focus this week will be on speech writing.

Language Arts/Reading: Informative Writing is the focus as it is the topic for the Writing Assessment which will take place on November 16th.

Traits of Good Writing

Content: The ideas are clear, focused, complete, and well developed with specific details.

Organization: The paper moves naturally from one idea to the next, with a strong beginning and ending.

Voice: The writing style is lively and interesting and is appropriate to the audience and topic.

Word Choice: Words are carefully selected to convey precise meaning, images and tone.

Sentence Fluency: Sentences are smooth, varied and carefully constructed.

Conventions: Correct spelling, grammar/usage, punctuation, capitalization and paragraphing are used throughout the paper.
