Conventional Protocol Setting Defaults:
SMTP    25
POP3    110
SMTP and POP3 server and proxy protocol by convention use port 25 and 110 respectively for listening for requests.
These are the default settings.
Should you wish to change this due to a conflict with some other product you may.
We suggest adding some multiple of 1000, such as 2025 and 2110.
The SMTP outgoing mailserver name is supplied by your Internet Provider Service or network administrator.
The POP3 incoming mailserver name is supplied by your Internet Provider Service or network administrator.
The Addressee to forward all copied email is any valid email address that you want to direct
the copies.
Next you must then configure each PC's mail software to talk to these port assignments
that the proxy server will be listening on.
See "Mail and Newsgroup" setups in Netscape or Outlook Express.
Netscape and Mozilla:
Goto Edit -> Preferences -> Mail&Newsgroups -> Mail Servers
Change "Incoming Mail POP3 Servers" to match your gateway machine's internal IP address
and the "listening port" number for POP3 traffic.
Change "Outgoing Mail SMTP Servers" to match your gateway machine's internal IP address
and the "listening port" number for SMTP traffic.
The format should be IP Address:Port Number
Outlook Express:
Goto Tools -> Accounts -> Properties -> Servers
Change "Incoming Mail Servers" to match your gateway machine's internal IP address.
Change "Outgoing Mail Servers" to match your gateway machine's internal IP address.
Goto Tools -> Accounts -> Properties -> Advanced
Change "Outgoing mail (SMTP): to match the "listening port" number for SMTP traffic.
Change "Incoming mail (POP3): to match the "listening port" number for POP3 traffic.
