Protocol Setting Defaults:
SOCKS 1080
SOCKSv5 server and proxy protocol by convention use port 1080 for listening for requests.
This is the default setting.
Should you wish to change this due to a conflict with some other product you may.
We suggest adding some multiple of 1000, such as 3080, 5080, 7080, etc.
Next you must then configure each network computer's SOCKS software to talk to these port assignments.
Most instant messaging providers permit use of either the HTTP and SOCKSv5 protocols.

The clear text of Instant Messaging can be viewed when the "Msgtxt Button" on the Logging Panel
is selected.
The HTML code is filtered out of the data traffic.
Below is an example of configuring the AOL Instant Messenger for traversing the proxy server.
