Telnet Protocol Facility Users Guide

Protocol Setting Defaults:

TELNET 23

TELNET server and proxy protocol by convention use port 23 for listening for requests. This is the default setting.

Should you wish to change this due to a conflict with some other product you may. We suggest adding some multiple of 1000, such as 2023, 4023, etc.

Next you must then configure each network computer's TELNET software to talk to these port assignments. See "Connection Settings" for IP targetting in Extra, Exceed, Attachmate, etc.

Below is an example of configuring Attachmate Extra for TN3270 client via the proxy server.
