Just the Girls!
Cousins and Lissa,
one of Georgette's teacher friends, offered moral support when we appeared on the Today Show.
Thanks so
very much, Ladies! Your presence made our day all the more special.
Georgette has bangs,
Gerie's hair is swept to the side, and I was given a tousled "punky" look.

We'd love to hear from you if you're thinking about a facelift
or an eyelift. Be sure to write "antell facelift" or something similar
in the subject line so your email isn't sent to the spam folder by security.
We're all hearing
tons of compliments.
Georgette has the pretty skin
she's always wanted. People keep thinking she had a skin treatment or dermabrasion. She says the realignment of the underlying
structures has made her skin smoother and healthier.
Georgette taught Foods to
High School students for over 30 years, so she uses a chicken skin analogy: a facelift is not simply pulling the skin
tight like trussing the flesh of a chicken over the stuffing. The surgeon performs intricate work on tissue layers under the
surface of your face in a procedure that takes several hours.
Georgette's Thoughts:
I think all
of the secrecy does plastic surgery a disservice. The “cover-up” implies that something fake and shameful is taking
place.
Most communication is nonverbal using our face and body language. Why
should restoring our original genetic intention be considered some sort of family betrayal?
Do people whisper about the guy who just had a knee replacement?
“I hear that isn’t his original knee.”
Our face gets lots of use so regenerating
it is totally logical and understandable to me.
Gerie's Thoughts:
I find myself smiling so much more now, and I reach
out to people with confidence. I've been able to enjoy social activities ranging from quiet conversations to live, unscripted
national television! Talk about stepping out of your comfort zone!
I used to have misconceptions and outdated ideas
about plastic surgery. For example, I always thought that the effects of a facelift were only temporary and would fade gradually,
so why bother?
But I learned that, while we will continue to age
like everyone else, we can expect to maintain a cleaner and fresher appearance over time than we would have had without surgery.
In other words, a facelift that subtracts "x" years at 57 will still subtract "x" years at 67, and at 77, etc.
Gail's Thoughts:
I find that the surgery has been a lift to
my spirit as well as to my face. I'm exercising - biking, swimming, walking - watching what I eat, trying to lose a few pounds
and to get proper rest, using sunscreen, and generally taking better care of myself.
I make no apologies for having cosmetic surgery.
I can remember when people frowned on braces and contact lenses. We had a wonderful adventure. This was "elective surgery,"
and my sisters and I elected to have it!

Left, thank you for the
great pictures, Janna! Above, right, all day we were recognized and greeted by friendly
New Yorkers, some of them blue.
