Crisfield is located near the center of the Delmarva Peninsula in the heart of what we call Bay Country. The Atlantic Ocean is 28 miles to the east and the Great Chesapeake Bay just a few miles to the west. The Crisfield-Somerset County Airport is a joint venture of Somerset County and the City of Crisfield. We invite you to fly to the area and try some of our restaurants known through out the Bay area for there fine crab cakes and homemade deserts, like the famous Smith Island small layer chocolate cake. Feast on fresh hot steamed crabs on one of the outdoor deck restaurants near the harbor.

So if you are just flying around on a Sunday
afternoon, stop in and enjoy a
snack at the airport terminal and good conversation with friendly
people. If you prefer to go in town to eat at one of our restaurants, we'll get you there and back. You may want to consider purchasing some local seafood to carry home with you. Check out local seafood stores in the Crisfield Area.

W41 is also the home of several experimental and ultralight aircraft. This is a growing sport in our area. Local 108UL Chapter of EAA is active on the lower Delmarva Peninsula, with headquarters in Willis Wharf, Va. On a Sunday afternoon you could see a squadron of these personal flying machines gathered around the terminal enjoying a snack and exchange stores of their adventures flying over our beautiful peninsula. |
