WHERE ELSE TO GET HELP

The Trichotillomania Learning Center is a national nonprofit organization devoted to advancing understanding of trichotillomania or compulsive hair-pulling. Founded in 1991 by a sufferer of trichotillomania, TLC has responded to over 50,000 inquiries about trichotillomania with up-to-date information, support and local resource referrals. TLC provides access to books, videos, and other resources, as well as links to local support groups.

TLC assists in the development of treatment options for those suffering from compulsive hair pulling and other related behaviors. It seeks to:

  • Increase public awareness of trichotillomania and related disorders
  • Create a flexible self-help network and treatment referral database
  • Raise funds for research into finding a cure
