Every year in
March, there is a wonderful bluegrass festival held in Argyle, Texas (USA). For those of you wondering, Argyle is a
small community about 40 mi. NE of Dallas, TX. The 2008 lineup will include Doyle Lawson
& Quicksilver, David Parmley & Continental Divide, The Del McCoury Band, Blue Highway and many others.

In conjunction
with the 2008 festival, legendary fiddler Bobby Hicks will once again host a 3-day Fiddle Camp. A 5-time
Grammy winner, recipient of 3 gold albums, 1 platinum album and 8 IBMA awards, Bobby is a veteran of some of the finest
bands in bluegrass, including those of Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs, and Jesse McReynolds, to name just a few. Bobby
Hicks has set a high standard for fiddlers everywhere for over 50 years.
Bobby's camp is geared for intermediate and advanced fiddle students
only and is limited to 15 participants. His focus will be learning to play backup/fill licks, constructing breaks
and working with a singer. The camp will concentrate on a few classic cuts from the Bluegrass Album Band collection.
His
camp will be 14 hours of intense training. It will begin on Thu, March 6 from 6pm-9pm, followed by Fri, March 7,
from 9am-6pm with a 2-hour lunch break from 12pm-2pm, then finish on Sat, March 8, from 10am-2pm. The cost will be $225
per student. This fee is only for the cost of the camp. Students will be responsible for their own room, board,
and transportation during the camp. It will be held at the Cross Timbers Community Church, 1119 US 377, Argyle,
TX. All persons must be at least 16 years old to register or have an adult/guardian with you.
