Hi all,
I wanted to give you an update. Fiddle Camp will be starting in exactly 1 week. I hope you all are getting
excited about spending 3 days with a Bluegrass Legend and learning his licks.
We have had a change in venue for the Camp. It will now be held at the Cross Timbers Church in Argyle, which is
also the location of the Bluegrass Festival. For those of you attending the Festival, this should make things more convenient.
Due to the change in venue, there has also been a slight change to the schedule. The Camp will now run from 6 p.m.
to 9 p.m. on Thu, Mar 6. This is an hour earlier than previously advertised. My apologies for the change.
I hope this doesn't impose an inconvenience on anyone.
The schedule will remain unchanged for Friday and Saturday. We will still run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fri, and
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat. We will take a 2-hour lunch break on Fri from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Hi Everyone,
I spoke with Bobby on Wed, Feb 20, and he has confirmed he will be returning
to Argyle Texas this year for his 2nd Annual Bluegrass Fiddle Camp! I hope eveyone is excited to hear that. For
those who have already signed up, you may confirm your travel plans. If you are still thinking about signing up, we
still have openings left and would love to have you.
Keep watching this site for updates, as we may move to a smaller venue within
Argyle for the Camp, depending on the final number of students that register.
So, put on those new strings you've been thinking about and get that bow
rosin'd up! See you in a couple of weeks!

Hello All,
Now that the holidays are over, I thought it was time for an update on Bobby
Hicks' 2008 Fiddle Camp in Argyle, TX. As of today, we still have quite a few slots open in the Camp.
As was the case last year, Bobby will need at least 12-15 students in order to justify his trip out here from North Carolina.
So, if you are sitting on the fence trying to decide whether or not to attend this year, Hicks says "Come on!".
Anyway, there is still plenty of room in the Camp, so get those registrations
in as soon as possible. Bobby will need a headcount by Feb 20, in order to determine if he & Cathy will
be making the trip to Texas. For those of you planning on flying in for the Camp, this will still give you time to book
your airline tickets 14 days in advance.
If some of you fiddlers from last year are wondering, Bobby will be
teaching a different set of songs this year, so it will be all new "stuff".

Hello All,
I wanted to let everyone know that Bobby Hicks will be returning to Argyle,
TX in 2008 to host another Fiddle Camp, again concentrating on Bluegrass Backup and Fill licks. I will be posting additional
details as they become available. I'm currently updating the Registration form and PayPal link. Hopefully, they
will be up on the website in the next few days.

Hello All,
Several of you have inquired if it would be possible to receive the workbook
and CD in advance so you can prepare for the Camp. I asked Bobby and he feels it would be better for everyone to wait
until the actual start of the Camp to distribute the materials. It is Bobby's opinion that handing out the workbook and CD early could lead some of us (including me!) to inadvertantly
learn the licks using incorrect fingerings and/or bowing patterns. By waiting until the Camp begins, we can all start
on the same page, literally.
Also, several of you have asked me about our relationship to the Argyle Bluegrass
Festival. Our Camp has been scheduled to run concurrently with the Festival, and I have done my best to ensure our Camp
doesn't interfere with the performance schedule at the Festival. The Festival site is about 2 1/2 miles south
of our Camp location.
Since our Camp is essentially a separate entity from the Bluegrass Festival, the fee for this Camp does NOT include access to the Festival. If you wish to attend the
Festival (which I highly encourage), you may purchase advance tickets for that event on their website. There is a link
to the Argyle Bluegrass Festival website on our home page. You will also be able to purchase Festival tickets at their
gate on the days of the event, as long as they haven't sold out.
If you have any additional questions about the Camp, feel free to contact
me and I will do my best to get you an answer.
