The site you are on is designed for the serious decorator looking for something a bit different. Themes chosen are especially complementary to Eastern, Western and Mediterranean interior designs.
Please contact me regarding pricing. Most artwork shown is suitable for giclee prints and paper sculptures are designed to be produced as multiples.
I can offer both original art to spec or original art as needed. I'm fast, reasonable and flexible. You won't find art like this anywhere in the world.
My wife and I live in Long Beach, California. We have 3 girls and a weiner-dog named Peanut. I produce graphic design as well when I'm not producing artwork that hangs in homes around the world.
My little studio in back of my house is where I create my masterpieces. Right outside my studio door is a beautiful Koi pond I built two years ago and thus the name of this web site.
My artistic portfolio covers a wide range of subject matter . I've been painting since I was five. I enjoy the natural elements of design found in all living things using watercolor, acrylics, watercolor pencil and collage.
I've always been fascinated with nature's textures. Much of the art, especially the new paper-sculpture I produce, reflects this.
I am a very prolific artist with a wide range of interests. Themes I cover in a variety of media are Koi, asian art, landscapes, western, nostalgia, tropical flowers and dogs. I produce watercolor and acrylic paintings, prints, paper sculpture and 3-dimensional collage.
My work is heavily influenced by both texture and dimensionalities created by building images that extend up off the surface of traditional "canvas". Materials I use include, wood, glue, paper, plastic netting, clay, and plaster. My images ultimately create a greater sense of space than exists by including the natural element of light and shadow cast by the dimensional subjects. Fundamentally though, my images are very simple.
I am well known in certain circles for my colorful Koi and instill a hint of playfulness in my artworks. I am a strong believer in keeping art approachable to everyone, and try not to be too pretentious about any aspect of fine art. I have produced several booklets on topics of interest to artists and others and provide a wealth of information as well as art images on my web site.
The contrast between light and dark becomes ever more striking on heavily textured surfaces like stone as day progresses into night. A pebble can delight, a mountain can inspire. To capture nature's visual power and share it is part of the joy I get in producing artwork for you.
Every image I deliver moves me one step closer to the sort of fame that increases the value of the artwork you've purchased! With your purchase I can potentially reach my goal of becoming a famous artist sometime before I die! It could happen thanks to you!
