These are some programs and utilities I use.

These are free to download/use unless noted with an asterisk (*).
Entries are somewhat categorized and alphabetically listed.

Security
• AVG Free Edition (antivirus)
• Spybot Search and Destroy (for spyware/adware)
• Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall

Important / Frequently used
• AOL Instant Messenger (5.9.6089), enhanced by middle_man
• Gmail (free email from Google), used in conjunction with
    • Gmail Notifier (from Google) (only to make Gmail my default mailto: handler)
    • Gmail Notifier FF extension (live notification)
• Mozilla Firefox (web browser, my extensions, other FF info)
• Winamp 5

Moderately important / Occasionally used
• Audacity (audio editor)
• CDBurnerXP (CD burning)
• dBpowerAMP Music Converter
• Listen Rhapsody (listen to 25 free songs per month)
• Media Player Classic (with Real Alternative, Quicktime Alternative)
• Notepad2 (lightning-fast Notepad/Wordpad replacement)
• Windows Media Player
• WinZip* (I've never got around to switching to something like 7-Zip)

Less important / Rarely used
• AutoIt (automation scripts)
• Daemon Tools (to mount disk images like ISO images)
• DVD Decrypter (backing up DVDs)
• DVD Shrink (compacting and writing DVD backups onto writable ones)
• FileZilla
• IconSaver* (remembers placement of icons on desktop)
• IrfanView (image viewer/editor, useful for a few rare file formats & a couple batch operations)
• IsoBuster (recover data from badly burned CDs and such)
• IZArc (for opening *.rar and a couple other rare file compression formats)
• Paint.NET (image manipulator)
• QuickMix (quickly modify sound/volume settings)
• Taskbar Shuffle (drag and drop Windows taskbar windows/buttons)
• uTorrent (technically, µTorrent)

Games
• Counter-Strike*, sometimes played (for scrimmages) in conjunction with
    • HydraIRC
    • Ventrilo (voice communication)
• The Sims 2*
• Quake* (the first 3-D FPS)
• MAME (arcade emulator)
• Nesticle (NES emulator)
• Neverball (I rarely play this, but it's nifty)
