The land on top of Bellevue Hill, situated at an elevation of 1,310 feet above mean sea level.  Behind the operations building stood a viewing tower used by the local populace as a viewing tower for panoramic vies of the Champlain Valley, the city of St Albans, Champlain Lake, Fairfield, Fairfax, and New York State.  One could see as far as Montreal, Canada on a clear day.  The viewing tower was demolished when the site was developed by the Air Force.  The footings, for the tower still exist.  In 1949 Bellevue Hill was purchased and developed into the home of the 764th AC&W Squadron.  The radar site was commissioned in 1950.
