With the reorganization of the Eastern Air Defense Force in, the
32nd Air Division lost the 4711th Defense Wing. The 764th was administered directly
by the 32nd Air Division Headquarters until the 14th Fighter Group (Air Defense) was activated on August 15th,
Ethan Allen AFB, Colchester, VT. The 764th was then assigned to the 14th
Fighter Group and the 764th was made a direction center for its sector of the 32nd Air Division.
