Four civil engineering civilian personnel, remained, at the Air Force Station as caretakers. Twelve acres
in ‑the operations area (top of the hill) was acquired by the FAA. The remaining 23 acres was placed under control of
the General Services Administration and was sold at public auction in 1980.
The
majority of the radar base property was sold at auction for about $200,000 to Bob Marcotte of Pinewood Manor Inc. in
the early 1980s.
