1999 ST ALBANS AIR FORCE STATION REUNION INVITATION

Dear St Albans AFS ex‑member,

May 05,1999

At our last reunion of the St Albans AFS ex‑members, August 29‑31, 1997, it was agreed to schedule the next reunion in two years, thus the local planning committee is pleased to announce that arrangements, have been made: our third reunion is scheduled for September 3 ‑ 5,1999. Several people have recently contacted us and we have heard of many other inquiries, all of which are very interested in attending the next event which we anticipate to be as enjoyable and interesting as the first two. Following is the planned schedule: members, spouse and/or invited guest are welcome to attend any or all activities:

‑9/03/6:00 p.m., St Albans American Legion, re‑acquaintance/social hour, 7:00 p.m: dinner continuing with an extended social gathering; 8:30 ‑ music and entertainment for dancing and enjoyment by Conrad Samuels Band, managed and directed by one of our ex‑members, Sam Masden. A special table will be set up, so bring any photos and memorabilia you have for a display and plan to remind the group of any unusual or interesting stories and events about the site.

‑9/04/2: 00 pm: Golfers Tee off at the St Albans Country Club: Roger Spaulding (802‑524‑6210 or e‑mail: KICRS@Together.Net) is the golf activities coordinator. Contact Roger for information or questions. Also Roger is developing a 764th Web Page which should be on line soon: contact him for information.

‑9/05/10:00 am: Legion Field Day at the St Albans Bay Park for those who would enjoy a chicken barbecue, fun and games. For additional information and/or tickets see the Legion bar tender.

NOTE: Gerry Morong, 802 524‑6636, is working with the St Albans Historical Society and is looking for additional items such as memorabilia and photos for the St Albans AFS display in the Franklin County Museum: any 764th AC&W or Radar Sqdn identified items will be appreciated

Pass a copy‑of‑this onto other ex‑764th members/spouses who may not be on our list. We have added several names to the list that were not available at the August 1997 reunion: an updated list will be available at the dinner/dance on September 3.

Contact Chuck Thweatt phone #802 524‑2267, e‑mail ‑ CThweatt@Together.Net or the address shown below, or Gene Boren phone # 802 524‑6943 for questions or suggestions. Call 802 524‑2191‑Cadilac Motel, 802 524‑5956‑Econo Lodge, both on So. Main Street, or 800‑376‑3777 Comfort Inn, a very nice hotel just off 189 exit 19 in St Albans to reserve a hotel room in St Albans area: mention the "St Albans AFS Reunion" when you call for reservations.

Complete and return the bottom part of this letter with a check for $15.00 (which will include dinner, tip and band costs) per person to be attending no later than August 21st so we can make firm plans for the dinner. We look forward to seeing you folks. Kind regards.

Chuck Thweatt
