August 10, 11, 12 2007

Reunion Number 7 has come and gone.  I had a really enjoyable time.  It was really good to see all my old friends and make new ones.  I hope that all of you had as good a time as I did.

The next Air Force Reunion is No. 8

The next reunion is August 14th, 2009.  This is giving you plenty of planning time and I hope those who were there for number 7 will be back for number 8 and those who were unable to attend number 7 will be able to attend number 8.

August 10th—Friday Evening Reunion Social/Dinner

The festivities began at 6:00pm with a re-acquaintance social hour.  Serving of dinner started at 7:00pm until all were served.  There was a short program by John Hauck from 8:00pm until 8:30pm.  The deceased were honored by a moment of silence.  The ex-members introduced themselves and talked about there life on the hill.  There was a no-host bar.  The dinner was a sit down diner.  The main entrée’s were Baked Chicken or Prime Rib catered by Claire Menard.  A cake with USA flags and the wording, “The 764th Radar Squadron.”  There were several door prizes donated by ex-members.  The reunion evening was at the American Legion Post #1, 100 Parah Drive, St Albans Town, VT.

Status of Radar Site

All of the buildings are gone except for a portion of one here and there.  Nature has taken over the site and it is overgrown.  The land has been surveyed and staked for development of 39 homes.  The old housing units are being remodeled with up grades to be sold.  The NCO club is still standing and I have been told some one has bought it and is going to turn it into a private home.  The access road is overgrown and really rough.  There is one radar tower still in existence and it is owned and operated by FAA.
