Herennius Etruscus

Son of Trajan Decius, Herennius Etruscus was appointed Caesar and eventually Augustus by his father. Campaigning with Decius against the invading Goths, Herennius earned the distinction of being the first Roman emperor to die in battle at the hands of the enemy.
