Marcus
Aurelius was the last of the “Five Good Emperors.” He was a
compassionate and conscientious emperor who saw his country through
some very difficult times that included plague and challenges to the
Empire’s borders. His book, “Meditations” on Stoic
philosophy, is still read today.
