Directions to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Trenton

471 Parkway Avenue, Trenton. (At the corner of Parkway Ave. and Parkside Ave.)

To those among us with a North Jersey (not to mention New York State or New England) orientation, Trenton may sound like the Furthest Ends of The Earth. It is NOT. The church is not appreciably further from Montclair than the Princeton singing was, and it should take not take much longer (if at all) to get to than the churches where we have sung in New York City and northern New Jersey in recent years. If you are going south to get home it's on the way. If you are going north, note that we will finish earlier in the afternoon than in previous years, so you'll hardly notice the difference by the time you get home.

By Car

From the North:

Take the Garden State Parkway south to exit 130 (exit numbers follow the mileage, so this is about 21 miles from the Watchung Ave. entrance at Exit 151).

At Exit 130 take Route 1 south toward Trenton. (Keep right on the exit ramp, but once you are on Rte. 1 move left immediately, since the right-hand lane quickly becomes a right-turn only lane.)

Drive approximately 28 miles on Rte. 1 and follow the well-marked exit signs onto I-95 south. (The speed limit is 50 mph for most of Rte. 1, but be prepared for stoplights).

On I-95 go 3.8 miles to exit 5B for Federal City Road (towards Ewing). NOTE: IF YOU TAKE EXIT 5A YOU WILL BE HEADING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. (THE CHURCH'S DIRECTIONS PAGE HAS THIS WRONG AS OF EARLY APRIL 2002. You really want 5B. Trust us. We've been there.) As you come off the ramp, you will be on Federal City Road heading towards town. Drive straight ahead 1.1 miles until the road ends at a T-junction. Turn left here onto Ewingsville Road and drive for 3.0 miles or 7 traffic lights. (At the third light Ewingsville Road becomes Parkside Avenue; at the sixth light you will cross NJ Rte. 31. Pay no attention to either event.)

That very seventh light is the corner of Parkside Avenue and Parkway Avenue. Continue straight on through the intersection and turn into the church parking lot at the first driveway on your right.

From the South:

From Pennsylvania on I-95, take first exit in New Jersey (1A), bear left toward Trenton. At 1st light turn left and travel to 8th traffic light. Church is on right as you approach 7th light.

By Public Transportation

NJ Transit, SEPTA or Amtrak trains to Trenton Station; walk to Scotch Road and Parkway to board no. 607 bus. Get off across from the church just after the bus turns onto Parkside from Parkway.

The church is also within walking distance of bus routes 609 (1/2 mile) and 606 (1 mile). It's about 2 1/2 miles to walk from the Trenton or West Trenton train station. For details of these options, please check back here shortly or get in touch with us.
