Transportation: When scheduling your travel, remember that time in London is 5 hours ahead of New York. There are excellent connections to Ely from London's Heathrow or Gatwick airports. Transportation is via bus or train with hourly departures in each case. The cost is around $35 and the traveling time is about 3 hours. Arrival points in Ely for bus and train are both within a mile of our reception area.

Our shuttles will meet every train from London, and will transport you and your luggage to our reception. Since you can charge tickets to credit cards, it is not absolutely essential to bring English cash with you, but ATMs are widely available. Cash can be changed even at the luggage carousels prior to customs!

Non-refundable airline tickets from the USA to London in April 2010 are expected to cost about $750 RT from New York. Flights normally leave in the late evening, take 7 hours from the East coast, and arrive the following morning in London.

You will want to book a flight that departs in the evening of April 6. For your return flight to the USA, bear in mind that you will want to leave Ely 5 hours beforehand to allow for sufficient travel time. Therefore, we suggest a 1pm or later departure.

We recommend purchasing non-refundable tickets to save money but we also strongly suggest that you purchase travel insurance just in case. Travel insurance is available from any travel agent.

More details of  transportation from London's airports to Ely will be provided to participants prior to departure.

Documents: You will not need a visa to enter England, but you will need a passport. Be sure to apply for your passport about 2 months ahead of your travel.
