Ann Street was a small street in the Northern Liberties, running north from Wood Street to just north of Callowhill Street in 1794, and by the early 19th century it had been driven through the block to Willow Street. It continued on north of Willow, but under the name of St. John Street (q.v.); today the whole thing is called American Street. There are no 1785 listings for it under the name of Ann Street; these are the 1791 Biddle directory listings:
