There are two street names that are quite similar in the 1785 directory (neither of which appear in the 1791 directory) which may mean that the two actually referred to the same street. MacPherson probably had more than one person out taking names, and it is known that this sort of thing did occur-- with Coates' Street (today Fairmount Avenue) in the Northern Liberties, for example. Therefore, Christen's Alley and Christian's Alley both appear here. There is a slight probability that either or both of these were near (or part of) Christian Street in Southwark. There was one entry for "Christian's Street" (#495, Roberts, Joseph) and one for "Christen's Street" (#496, Lindsey, Joseph) which have been listed with the Christian Street entries.
