Maiden Street

Maiden Street was a street in the Northern Liberties, which does not appear on the 1794 Scot-Allardice map; its precise location was unknown, but MacPherson gave it as the northernmost boundary of the coverage of his directory, and therefore it must have been north of Poplar Lane (now Poplar Street). It may have been the same Maiden Street shown on the 1836 Tanner map as extending eastward from Front Street to the beginning of the "Road to Frankford" (today, Frankford Avenue). If so, it is today the section of Laurel Street that runs from Front to Frankford Avenue.

It was not covered by Francis White or Clement Biddle, and so the only listings would be those of John MacPherson in 1785.
