Noble Lane

Noble Lane (or Street, as MacPherson referred to it) was a small street in the Northern Liberties. In the 18th century it ran from the river to one of the roads to Germantown (NOT modern-day Germantown Avenue) which ran north from about midway between 4th and 5th Streets; the only sections of Noble Street surviving today are those from Penn to Front Street and from 2nd Street to American Street (then called St. John's Street). It was not covered by Francis White, and so the only listings are those of John MacPherson.
