Dancer's High

When Persephone sets out to dance she puts her whole soul into it. There's no telling what heights she'll reach. This 5" by 7" miniature is worked in Prismacolor pencil on primed hardboard masonite in an antique gold-tone frame. Sold

The Dream Goddess

One of the directions I've taken with polymer clay is to mix it with other media. In this and the following piece, I've used the clay to give themes to dream catchers. This is number 2 in a series that began with Dragonfly Dreams(not pictured). Beads and a crystal drop add sparkle. 10" across. Goddess Glows in the Dark.

She came back to me in 2004 when the convention where she sold put her up for sale again as Unclaimed Art. I claimed her for cost and set her to watch over my studio for the Summer. In September I was working on a large order of spindles and I kept getting the feeling my Dream Goddess wanted something. Wanted her own spindle, in fact. Fishing though my collection I came across a miniature, purple spindle that I had originally made as a hair stick.  A new thread weaves its way through the dream catcher to her hands and then to this spindle. Dream catchers need spindles to ply the threads of our dreams into the yarns of our lives. Anyway, mine do.  She is also helping to inspire a new spindle design. Watch for its debut, soon.

Wet Dreams Number One

Third dream catcher, this time with a deep sea theme. The parrot feather, shed by a friend's pet, influenced both the color choices and the styling of the fish. Another friend is renowned for his love of squid which tempts me to play with different ways to create them. 10" across. Glows in the dark. Sold.

Year of the Tigger

Tigger was my geriatric, diabetic cat and a relatively willing model. Painting on a feather is something I'd been wanting to try for a while, so when my friend Carol gave me some lovely feathers her parrot had shed, I wasted no time giving it a try. This is the first, but will certainly not be the last. Not leaving well enough alone, I added a tigereye cabochon. BTW I have forgotten which end of my chop is up. Please forgive me if it is wrong and tell me which way it goes. Sold at Bucconeer Auction.

I hope you will have the chance to see some of my work in person at one of the shows listed in "Where's Halla?" on my Home World Page.
