Last summer, when Mattapoisett celebrated our Sesquicentennial Birthday, a special sense of pride was evident throughout the town.  Residents and visitors alike came together to learn more about this beautiful town and to share in the making of memories that would last a lifetime.

 

The committee that had worked so hard to create these events were all very pleased at the fulfillment of their endeavors. They also were very much aware that there was still so much about our hometown to share.  In an effort to continue that celebration, of our special place and people, the Mattapoisett Historical Commission is sponsoring, what we hope will become an annual event, called “Heritage Days.”

 

A sub committee for planning the Heritage Days was formed and has been meeting since early in the year to put together several events for the towns first Heritage Days Celebration which will be held August 1st—3rd, 2008.

 

Just As we did in our Sesquicentennial Celebration, there will be events that are appropriate for families and varied interests.  These events will run in conjunction with several of the regular town activities that make summer in
Mattapoisett so enjoyable to so many people.
