The Manatee County Sheriff's Office maintains a 24-hour Traffic Complaint Hotline for citizens to report traffic related problems such as speeding their neighborhood.
The program is being expanded and now citizens can report any traffic violation they observe in Manatee County. The witness should call in the tag number and description of the vehicle to the hotline number.
The registered owner of the vehicle will receive a courtesy letter from the Sheriff's Office stating that the listed vehicle was observed committing a traffic violation. The letter is a courtesy notice and requires no action. There are no fines, points or sanctions reported to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
