ENGINE No. 2
This truck was originally purchased as a twin to Engine 501 in 1976. It was delivered in August, 1976. It is a Ward LaFrance Ambasador model pumper. The unit has a 1000 gallon per minute Hale two-stage fire pump. The engine is Detroit Diesel eight cylinder engine which develops 350 horse power. It has an Allsion HT-740 automatic transmission. The truck was refurbished in 1983 with a new aluminum body, removal of booster reels and the addition of Mattydale crosslays. It has a 1200 watt inverter powering two 500 watt telescopic floodlights. It currently carries 1000 feet each of 5"and 4" supply line, and six 200 ft 1-3/4" attack lines and two 200 ft 2-1/2" attack lines. This is currently our "second due" engine.
