RESCUE No. 1
This truck was purchased in 1992 as a replacement for our 1972 rescue truck. It is a Saulsbury Fire Equipment Corp. Cardinal Series 20' stainless steel heavy rescue unit. The unit has a 15KW PTO driven frame mounted generator that powers 6, 1500 watt flood lights and miscellaneous portable electical equipment. The body is all stainless steel construction, walk in type with a command center and an SCBA fill station in the rear body. The unit carries a variety of heavy rescue tools including a full Hurst Hydraulic Rescue Tool set up. It also carries such firefighting equipment as PPV fans, salvage and overhaul equipment, and is a second response EMS apparatus. The engine is a Cummins Diesel six cylinder engine which develops 350 horse power. It has an Allsion World automatic transmission. The chassis is a Spartan Motors Gladiator raised roof LFD with seating for ten (10) firefighters and SCBA It also has an eight bottle 6000 PSI cascade system with air reel capability. This apparatus runs on all fire alarms and motor vehicle accidents.
