In the photo, seen right, and the one below, you can see how
I set up a podium with gauges and ignition, fuel, cooling system, etc., in preparation for the first attempt to start the
motor. If you want a closer look, click on the image to enlarge it.

Rumors have circulated that I run a Chev motor in my Riv. I think
the photo, seen left, will clear up any questions about what type of motor I'm running. This
photo was taken prior to the first time it was dropped into the car. Because many Buick parts are difficult to find,
my dad and I had to machine several parts, and/or build tools to produce them, for example the blower plate and throttle linkage.

| Ready, aim, fire! |
One of my greatest memories has got to be the day the motor started on the first try.
Unbelievable? It was hard for me to believe myself, but if you click on the photo at the left for a closer look, you
can see the alternator is spinning, because you can't see the fins. The noise brought half of the neighborhood out to
find out what it was. Some were more enthusiastic about the event than others, thus the reason why my mantra is "disturbing the peace."
