08/06/06: AHMEDABAD: A Catholic priest working in Meghraj was killed in tragic circumstances while trying to help the police chase a runaway vehicle late on Friday. The Toyota Qualis that Father SG Prakash was driving rammed into a tree at a turning about 7 km from Modasa, about 70 km north of Ahmedabad, at 10.30 pm. Prakash (42), a parish priest at Meghraj, was driving his vehicle with another priest, Father Glacius Raj, by his side when they were flagged down by the police at a check-post at 10.15 pm. They were returning from the diocese feast at Himmatnagar when police asked them to stop at the Modasa police chowki. While Prakash was in the vehicle, police called out Raj for questioning. At that moment, a Maruti car went speeding and did not heed the signals from the police to pull over for a check-up. In excitement, two police officials jumped into Prakash's vehicle and told him to give the car a chase. Before Raj could jump into the car, he saw the Qualis go off after the Maruti car. A police jeep also followed suit but, as fate would have it, they found the Qualis crashed against a roadside tree about 7 km away. From witness accounts, it appears the accident took place because of the insistence of the police officials to Prakash to drive faster to catch up with the Maruti car but he lost control of the vehicle in the process. Raj, who waited at the chowki for Prakash to return, told TOI: "I was shocked when the Qualis did not return, but the police jeep did, with Fr Prakash's body which was still warm when I touched it."Doctors at a hospital in Modasa declared Prakash dead on arrival. The incident sent shock waves across the Christian community who came to know about the bizarre incident on Saturday. The Maruti car, which was being chased, could not be traced but witnesses said it had Rajasthan registration plates.

*** Christ has Died, Christ is Risen, Christ will come again!!!

04/16/06:> He is risen. Happy Easter Everyone. THE RESURRECTION is the keystone of the arch on which our faith is supported. If Christ has not risen, we must impeach all those witnesses for lying. If Christ has not risen, we have no proof that the crucifixion of Jesus differed from that of the two thieves who suffered with him. If Christ has not risen, it is impossible to believe his atoning death was accepted.
D.L. Moody, "Jesus Arose: So Shall We" (sermon)

04/14/06: Good Friday - Jesus was crucified.

"Finally Pilate handed Him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. Carrying His own cross, He went out to The Place of The Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgatha. Here they crucified Him, and with Him two others - one on each side and Jesus in the middle." (John 19:16-18) See
