Project Lead  ~  Project lead for website development. For new websites, successfully led clients through progressive phases while keeping project on schedule and overseeing team resources. For maintenance clients, managed contracts, client relationships, change requests to websites and was responsible for QA/testing. Client industries included the medical, semi-conductor and real estate investment trust industries.
 
 
Diva Diversions, Arlington, VA
Consultant / Analyst  Performed various tasks for a new business that organized upscale social events for women. Assisted with brainstorming ideas for a business name. Designed and created a mock-up of the website. Performed research to find and evaluate vendors. Gathered and documented website requirements and contacted vendors for bids. Performed research to compare options for the design, hosting and e-marketing solutions to assist the owners in making an informed decision. Assisted with web design and writing content. Developed website in Yahoo! Stores (aka Merchant Solutions), trained owner and provided support. Assisted with creation of marketing communications.
 
 
Lotus Museum
Founder & Curator  ~  Just for fun, conceived, designed, developed and currently run and maintain a web-based virtual museum to house memorabilia from Lotus Development Corporation. Website was launched in conjunction with the 25th anniversary celebration of the company. Responsible for graphics, content and communications.

Quality Consultant  ~ Collaborated on proposal writing. Reviewed and edited communications, presentations, marketing materials, and website content. 
 
 
Non-Profit Foundation, Dallas, TX

Consultant  ~  For the change management portion of a pilot program aimed at improving the Dallas school system:  Developed proof of concept on two platforms (SharePoint and QuickBase).  Wrote proposal, gathered requirements, developed and tested a SharePoint application to store and track data about the schools and their progress.  Generated reports. Delivered project on time and within budget.

 

 

Yashmax Consulting, Cleveland, OH

Consultant  ~  For a national lighting manufacturer, developed a proof of concept in QuickBase that resulted in a contract to build an application for the PMO. Built two inter-related applications:  one application provided project portfolio management and project statistics for senior management; the other improved team collaboration for the project managers and teams and enabled the management of resources, tasks, issues, status reports, time entry and documents. Developed and tested the applications, implemented security, wrote a user guide and trained the application administrator and users. Delivered project on time and within proposed budget.

 

 

Norwood Promotional Products, Indianapolis, IN

Program Manager  ~  Led team after go-live of major collaborative project with Office Depot. Coordinated and led weekly team and executive meetings; escalated issues and acted as liaison with Office Depot technical resources and QA.


QA Manager/Test Lead  ~ 

  • For a project that partnered with Office Depot on a real-time, order integration SOA messaging application, was responsible for the creation of test plan and outlines, execution of outlines, and liaison with QA and Development at Office Depot. The success of this project is expected to add $40M/year to the bottom line. Also responsible for selection, administration and training of defect tracking tool.
  • Hired and led a team of eight interns in testing and preparing for go-live of PeopleSoft Order Capture and External Portal modules. Responsible for creation of test plan, outlines, schedule, execution of outlines, defect reporting and reporting results to management. Responsible for selection, administration and training of software defect tracking tool.
  • In preparation for PeopleSoft Order Capture go-live at a manufacturing site, trained and led and supported a remote team of eight employees in testing over 600 products, with thousands of possible configurations.

PMO Coordinator  ~  Assisted the PMO Director with the creation, documentation, implementation and enablement of processes and tools to support five project managers and 100+ projects. Researched, assessed and provided feedback on tools. Using QuickBase, built a multi-table application to track opportunities; store documents; track invoices and expenses; and track and manage projects via a portfolio, tasks, issues, meeting minutes, status reports and time reporting. The success of the application led to its adoption by the entire IT department and tripled the size of the user base. Defined and created 30 template forms. Assisted with the creation of presentations and reports for executive management.


Communications/Training Specialist  ~  Consulted on a project deploying Business Objects to 400 users. Delivered a Change Management Strategy that recommended an approach, along with alternatives, for the delivery of communications. Other deliverable documents included:  Scope and Scale of Change, Event Strategy Worksheet, Training Landscape, Participation Plan and Stakeholder Assessment. Assisted the PMO with project management and communications planning and execution.

 

 

Hitachi Consulting, Dallas, TX

Sr. Change Management Consultant  ~  For Tyson Foods, consulted on Change Management to the Financial and Purchasing teams during the design phase of a project implementing SAP for 120,000 employees. Wrote communications and led development of a feedback survey to check the pulse of the team. Led planning effort on a Fixed Assets process project to communicate with/train accountants how to perform an inventory/audit on the company’s fixed assets.

 

 

IBM, Detroit, MI

Communications Specialist  ~  For Detroit Energy, consulted on communications for a project that migrated 13,000 users from Netscape Mail/SunOne Calendar to Domino Web Access and Lotus Notes. Led client through creation and execution of a communications plan. Assisted with writing communications, web content and instructional documentation. Reviewed and made recommendations on a project website that provided users with access to project information. Led development of user feedback surveys to help improve the project.

 

 

Harbour Mastery, Tampa, FL

Consultant  ~  Performed testing, reported defects and summarized test results for web-based application. Made suggestions about GUI design. Reviewed and edited marketing materials, communications and website content. Wrote v1 and v1.1 of a Getting Started guide and User Manual.

Consultant / Business Analyst  ~  Led testing, wrote web content and three manuals, collaborated on GUI design and provided training on a project that released a new company website, with administrative controls, and resulted in the ability to expand nationally. Other responsibilities included research, business analysis, business intelligence, communications, publicity, proposal and contract review, functional requirements review, customer service, event registration and payment processing through VeriSign. Acted as liaison with business owners, developer, ISP and franchisees which facilitated communication among them. The successful completion of the project led to the sale of the company.

 

 

Intellinex, Irving, TX

Software Tester  ~  Wrote test scripts, tested web-based application and submitted software problem reports for the Learning Management System and Content Management System. My test scripts were used as the basis for automated testing.

 

 

KMA Interactive, Plano, TX

Business Analyst ~  Part of a team doing analysis and developing/documenting detailed requirements on a Acquisition and Donor Management system that had no specs or documentation, in order to reverse-engineer the application in preparation for an upgrade. Documented the functionality through a review of the GUI.

 

 

Networking Groups

Created and currently moderate career and class reunion networking groups that use Yahoo! Groups to share information about job leads and common interests. Responsible for publishing communications, organizing meetings, forwarding job leads, helping members connect with others and user support. I have also coached others starting new groups.

 

 

Political Volunteer

Created and moderated a Yahoo! Group that was the e-mailing list for a volunteer grass roots effort for a 2004 presidential candidate. When the organizational needs outgrew Yahoo! Groups, assessed and tested Constant Contact and assisted with the transition to it. Prepared e-communications by editing/formatting content and testing before publication. Trained and worked with an assistant when the workload increased.

Proposed / planned client engagements and consulted, managed and led consulting / client teams on those engagements. Successfully leads project teams  through development of web portals that have document repositories, marketing tools and online bill pay. Responsible for managing developers, client relationships, change requests, schedules, testing, writing user guides and training. Client industries include banking, insurance, pest control, agriculture and newpapers

 

Bank of America - Consulted on change management and led communications and training on a pilot that introduced Lotus Sametime to 1,000 users. Wrote and executed communications and training plans; assisted client with writing communications and training. The success of this project resulted in the sale of 65,000 seats of Lotus Sametime and a commitment for additional consulting services. Managed revenue was $110K.

 

Bank of America - On a messaging migration for 50,000 users, led the creation of communications and training plans.

 

USDA Forest Service - Led a team of consultants in setting up and running a tier-one help desk/training center that supported 33,000 users on Lotus Notes Mail and Calendaring & Scheduling. Led team in design, development, testing and implementation of a feedback database to improve the help desk/training experience and processes, which resulted in fewer calls to the help desk. Successful delivery of the project led to three follow-on engagements that expanded the scope of the project and increased the consulting team by 100%. Managed revenue for all phases of the project was $1M.

 

IBM PMO at ExxonMobil - Led communications for a team of 30+ consultants. Wrote and executed a communications plan; developed, tested, released and supported a database for tracking issues and action items.

 

VHA – Led national hospital management client in defining business requirements. Created questionnaires, interviewed users, analyzed results, and documented recommendations, resulting in an improved GUI for their knowledge management website.

 

 

Senior Consultant  ~  Communications, application development, implementation, GUI design, software testing, writing, and messaging migrations for clients.

 

Bank of America - Consulted and led communications effort on a project that migrated 20,000 users from OpenMail to Lotus Notes and resulted in 86% of users rating their migration experience as satisfactory or higher. Led client through creation and execution of communications plan; wrote communications and instructional documentation. Reviewed, tested and launched a project intranet website. Provided user support. Developed, tested and implemented a feedback database to improve the project. The success of this project resulted in the client using this communications model on all Domino IT projects and made me a communications subject matter expert in the West Region of Lotus Professional Services.

 

Bank of America - Consulted and led communications effort on a project that collapsed two Domino domains into one domain for 46,000+ Notes users in 80 countries. Led client through creation and execution of two communications plans, one for each domain, and wrote communications.

 

Pfizer - Designed, developed and tested a new GUI for the Legal department’s litigation management application.

 

Mobil Oil - Led a team in developing a test plan, writing test outlines and testing an executive information and document management system that was designed to improve the efficiency of the executive office.

 

Mobil Oil - Designed, developed and tested a new GUI navigator and tools for a customized messaging system which combined the features of nine messaging systems into one Lotus Notes/Domino-based messaging system and improved the ease of use for end users and System Administrators.

 

US Armed Forces – Wrote documentation and test outlines and performed testing on a web-based mammography tracking application for Tricare’s managed care environment that proactively notified patients and was designed to reduce breast cancer in the armed forces.

 

Sabre - Part of the 1997 Lotus Consulting North American Project Team of the Year that designed, developed and released a Lotus Notes-based travel planning application that provided real-time booking for corporate travel. Led team in designing and developing the GUI, which resulted in an easy to use application. Designed, developed and wrote an on-line help system which helped users to use the application. Performed user documentation reviews that improved the product and ensured consistency with on-line help. Acted as liaison between the development and QA teams, which improved team communications and resulted in a better product.

 

Shell Chemical – Part of the1996 Lotus Consulting North American Project Team of the Year that, during a business process redesign, helped design, develop, test and release multiple iterations of a cross-business unit pricing tool for chemical salespeople. The tool empowered the sales team to make pricing decisions and drastically reduced pricing decision turnaround time.
