I agree that the steel braided lines are ok for the street, I've had mine on for seven years and they're still ok, but they don't get very dirty in So. Cal. Now in a snowy place I imagine they'd get a lot more grit stuck into the weaves and cause chafing inside. Personally, I've never known or heard of anyone having a failure of a steel braided brakeline that I know of, so I'm not too worried. Randy W.
