• When you have finished writing your paper and
would otherwise be ready to print it out and turn it in
* Save your finished document as an MS Word file.• When Jon receives your e-mail, he will send a confirmation notice to you.
***Note: Prof. Ausubel's computers cannot read .wps (Microsoft Works) files; users of Microsoft Works should save their work in .rtf or .doc format.* Create a new e-mail addressed to prof.ausubel@chaffey.edu and cc'd to yourself.
* Use the subject line
[course section number] [your name]* Select your entire text only paper from your word processing program, copy it, and then paste it into the body of the e-mail.So, for example, the student named Ivanna Goodgrade in English 450-66666 would use this subject line:
66666 Ivanna Goodgrade
* Save your e-mail as a draft, close it, and then reopen it.
* Read through your e-mail carefully to make only these format changes as necessary:
Double space BETWEEN paragraphs and BETWEEN entries in your works cited list (very important!)* Close the MS Word document and then in your e-mail program attach the MS Word file (no .wps file formats) to the e-mail.Indicate underlining for titles that should be underlined by inserting an underscore character before and after the title with no extra spaces, like this: _Moby Dick_
Eliminate "computer cuss": quotation marks and apostrophes frequently turn into bizarre characters, so words end up looking like this: ™?Let?°s go,°- he said. Correct these changes manually in the body of the e-mail.
Note that your paper should appear in the text of the e-mail message and should also be attached as an MS Word file (no .wps file formats).* Send ONLY ONE COPY of your e-mail by the deadline stated on the assignment sheet. If you have cc'd it to yourself, you will receive a copy so that you know it went through. SAVE YOUR COPY in case the Chaffey server shunts your e-mail into the electronic twilight zone.
* Papers submitted electronically will receive
electronic replies.
